New Twitter Default PictureWell, since people won’t take the initiative to make themselves look professional by uploading an image, Twitter has at least improved the old picture with this new slightly more professional one.

But really… I see all these businesses trying to get followers on Twitter, but their not using all of their resources… that’s just silly. Uploading your logo or another image that represents your brand really does help make you more memorable among all the millions of other people on Twitter. I mean people even have favorite Twitter friend avatars… get in on that…

Quick Lessons for the Small Business Owner

If you are a small business owner, man you have it tough. Small business owners today have a harder time staying a float than ever. Competing with places like Amazon and eBay is just mind blowing. They carry everything under the sun so why shop anywhere else, right? Wrong, you can compete, if you have the right software and marketing strategies to do it.

When competing with stores like Amazon (who are always on page one of Google and in front of YOUR potential customers) you have to show up in the search results. This is the first and MOST important part of the competition. Choosing the correct web designer or shopping cart is the step to accomplishing your first step.

Baiting Your Website for Customers

Several years ago an Alabama State Trooper came upon a young boy fishing off a bridge at night. The Trooper stopped and asked the boy how the fishing was. The boy replied, “It would be great if these damned worms wouldn’t bite.” The Trooper took his flashlight and shined it in the bait bucket. To the Trooper’s amazement he found the boy was using baby rattlesnakes for bait.

Web sites are very much similar to this situation. If you’re using the wrong bait either you’re going to be bitten or your web site won’t work correctly.
