			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OKLAHOMA CITY – The founder of Norman-based Merchant Metrix is ready to take his knowledge of online search engines and retail market-manipulating skills to the next level with two new Web sites and a venture capital opportunity, Lee Roberts said.<br />
<img style="padding-right:20px;" src="http://www.journalrecord.com/_images/articles/t_labsbb-ventcap_MS_08-11-09.jpg" alt="Merchant Metrix Management" align="left" /> The company recently launched Web sites <a href="http://www.commerceregistry.com" target="_blank">www.commerceregistry.com</a> and <a href="http://www.shopoklahomaonline.com" target="_blank">www.shopoklahomaonline.com</a> to raise the search engine profiles of Roberts’ merchant clients, the former for retailers in general and the latter for Oklahoma-based companies. The sites list merchants by topic and provide stand-alone information pages and at least four different hyperlinks to each individual Web site listed in the directory.</p>

The latest technique is associated with The Pottery Barn, but according to reports it seems to work on other sites like William Sonoma.</p>
<pThe Pottery Barn 9 - trick actually requires the website visitor to shop around and change the product number in the website address. I won't tell how to do this.</p>
<p>At Merchant Metrix we&#8217;re concerned with our clients&#8217; businesses and want to ensure hacks like this and others do not exist. This concern led us to develop a <a href="http://www.merchantmetrix.com/features.html" target="_blank">shopping cart software</a> package that eliminates these and other problems.</p>
